Cracks to guttering throughout, with exposed netting. Heavy tanning and foxing to text block edges. Light marking to pastedowns and endpapers. Boards have moderate shelf wear, with rubbing and marking. Light bumping to corners and heavy crushing to spine ends. Boards are slightly bowed with sunning and heavy spots overall.

Hutchinson, London, 1933. First Edition. Hardcover. Damaged/No Dust Jacket. Illustrator: Photographic. 900 g; 300 pages, indexed, and with 12 pages of the publisher's new books for the autumn of 1933 at the rear of the book. Illustrated with numerous photographs. There is water damage to the bottom of the book affecting the margins of some of the pages in the bottom corner towards the spine when looking at an opened page. There is also some colour transfer from the dark blue of the spine to the bottom edge of the text block. The book has on the rear paste down " The Times Book Club" sticker.
