Octavo; black and red cloth, with titles stamped in red on spine; dustjacket; 285pp. Mild foxing to text edges, else clean, Fine copy in a nicely preserved example of the striking Art Deco pictorial jacket, with some shallow chipping at spine ends (not affecting any lettering) and a closed tear to upper front panel; Very Good+. "The story of a girl whose fearlessness antagonizes the little village in Scotland which is her home, of her effect upon the three men who love her, and of how she perishes finally at the hands of her righteous townsfolk.
