Description:
(London, Eyre and Spottiswoode, 1936). 8vo; original red cloth, rather stippled, and sunned on spine; no dustwrapper; pp. xvi +284; 6 colour plates from water-colour drawings by Philip Rickman; black-and-white photographic plates; scattered light foxing. Good condition. "Major Pollard has done two things. One is wholly agreeable; the other is, I think, rather dreadful. He has written an extremely good, complete, vivid and authoritative book on shooting in nearly all its aspects, and in doing it he has re-created - in me at all events - what can only be described as an infernal longing to be doing all the things which he talks about." - Guy C. Pollock. .
