A rare and very early printing of the famed German tales, 'Grimm's Fairy Tales'. Translated and published by Edgar Taylor, 'Gammer Grethel' features some of the most well-known tales including:

· The Golden Goose

· Rumpelstiltskin

This 1839 English edition is divided into three or four story sections called 'Evenings' – note the inclusion of small vignette illustrations.

This particular example is signed by the translator Taylor.

Herodian's 'History of Rome' is a collection of eight books covering the period of the death of Marcus Aurelius to the beginning of Gordian III's reign. Herodian's account is first-person narrative of one of the most politically unsettled times of the Roman Empire. Important names covered in Herodian's 'History' include Commodus, Julianus, Severus, and Pertinax, as well as the history of Zosimus.

This 1549 Greek is incredibly rare and desirable. It features both the Latin and Greek translations by Poliziano. According to the USTC, there are only three examples in any institutional holding in American institutions! Very rare!
