Illustrator: black and white illustrations and drawings. as can be seen in the attached image the dust jacket is missing parts at the top and bottom of the spine and left hand side of the front panel. The book itself, apart from some moisture marks to the cloth on the rear panel, shows no damage, and has no annotations I can find. Illustrated with some historical drawings. There is a list of authorities from 1440 through to 1912, but the previous owner has failed to cut edge of the pages. "After making practical suggestions as to staking out and planting such a garden, the author gives valuable information on the use of herbs inside the house. She tells how to bring novelty to one's pantry shelf with such rare delicacies as rose petal conserve and honey violet; how to prepare herb teas, tonics and wine; how to preserve delicate herb scents for milady's delight." – Front folder of a blurb Fourth Printing.
