Cracking to gutters of a few pages with exposed binding. Previous owner's inscription to half-title page. Light stained marking to edges of pastedowns and endpapers. Cracking to hinges with exposed binding, causing boards to be slightly loose. Binding is slightly shaky.Boards have mild edge wear with slight rubbing to surfaces. Soft crushing to spine ends. Mild tanning to spine and edges. Book is slightly forward leaning.

London - Frederick Warne and Co., 1889 Book. Very Good. Hardcover. A nicely bound anthology of British poetry. The 'Albion Edition' of this work, published by Frederick Warne and Co. Compiled andedited by one Mrs Laura Valentine. Laura Valentine was an English writer, best known for her numerous children's books. In a Riviere and Son binding with beautifulgilt stamping to the top and bottom of the boards. This anthology features numerous poems bypopular British poets. Poets include Joseph Addison, Matthew Arnold, Richard Barham, Robert Burns, Thomas Gray, Lord Lytton, Thomas Moore, Shakespeare and Shelley. Condition: In a full morocco binding with gilt stamping to the top and bottom of boards and to spine. Externally, smart with small patches of rubbing to the joints and spine, particularlyto the head and tail. A few marks to boards. Binder's stamp to verso of front endpaper, Riviere and Son. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are slightly age toned to edges with a few spots to endpapers and the odd spot throughout. Overall: VERY GOOD..
