Richmond, Va.: B. F. Johnson Publishing Co., 1897. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Fair. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Small quarto. 586 pages. Hardcover bound in original leather with cover titles in gilt. The binding is quite worn, and the spine has been covered with black book cloth tape. The binding consequently opens stiffly but is sound. Corners are bumped and chipped. All edges gilt. Lacks the front flyleaves, so that the first page is the title page. The rear flyleaf shows some pest damage. The text block is sound, and the text is toned and has foxing or stains (sometimes heavy) and smudging to the pages from handling. The title page also has some rubbing, staining, and abrasions.

Since 1996 we have been serving the Triad community as well as customers from around the world. We have around 15-20,000 volumes in our shop. We specialize in North Carolina, Virginia, Civil War, Old Leather, Christianity, Eastern and Western Philosophies, and the simply unusual. We very likely have the oldest books in Greensboro; we keep a nice selection of antiquarian volumes and scholarly books.
