'The Chalet School' series contained approximately sixty school story novels by Elinor Brent-Dyer. They were initially published between 1925 and 1970. This particular novel follows a girl named Nina Rutherford, an orphan. Her father's cousin comes to send her to an English school, but she insists she cannot attend a normal school. She falls in with the Chalet School and makes friends with some members of the Fifth. Sir Guy decides to send her to the Chalet School. The first edition, held in original, unclipped dustwrapper. Elinor M Brent-Dyer was a popular children's author who wrote more than 100 books in her lifetime. Condition: In a full cloth binding and held in original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, generally smart. Fading to the extremities and to the head and tail of spine. Bumping to the head and tail of spine. Marks to the boards. Dustwrapper is covered in tape for preservative purposes. The tape has become discoloured. Bumping and chips to the head and tail of spine as well as to the extremities. Rubbing to the spine, joints and extremities. Scattered spotting to the wraps. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are severely age toned due to paper used. Scattered spots to the pages. Overall Condition: Very Good in a Good dustwrapper.
