About This Item
Norwalk, Connecticut: Easton Press. Fine. 2016. Hardcover. I bought this book from an Easton Press subscriber who never read it and took great care of it. Fine/As New. Introduction by Jenny McPhee. Illustrated by Ralph Barton (reproducing his original illustrations from 1925). Gentlemen Prefer Blondes was first published in 1925 and belongs the same era as The Great Gatsby. Gentlemen was the second best selling book of 1926 and became a smash broadway musical, a newspaper comic strip that ran for several years, a motion picture in 1928, and a musical - all before Marilyn Monroe took on the role in 1953. This book made with Easton's usual great quality - full leather binding with real gold decorations, 4 raised bands to the spine, moire endpapers, gilded page edges, and a sewn-in satin bookmark. Ships same or next business day well protected in a box. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 131 pages .
