Leipzig: Verlag von Heinrich Matthes, 1849. Hardcover. 294, 323p., hardbound in matched calf boards gilt over 7x4.5 inch marbled boards; ex library from a personal marxist collection, spine has ugly green labels and has been overtaped with clear adhesive to secure splitting backstrips; gilt spine-titling remains legible. Boards show much cardstock, leather corner-tips are largely worn away. Find three ownership stamps on endsheets of both volumes, a partially cracked front hinge in v.2, heavy foxing to text edges, title pages and other leaves.
