Garden City, NY: Doubleday & Company, Inc, 1952. First Edition. Hardcover. Very good/very good. 447pp. Octavo [21.5 cm] Black cloth over boards with silver stamping on the backstrip. Publisher's light red top stain. Brown endpapers reproducing the author's initials. The spine is bumped at the head, and the boards show light shelf wear. In a dust jacket, with mild toning and rubbing, and occasional shallow closed tears and chips in the edges. Ferber's novel So Big was awarded the 1925 Pulitzer Prize. This novel, a story of Texas, portrays "the staggering bigness- and the pathetic littleness- of a country within a country." (Dust jacket).
