Harper & Brothers, NY, 1915. Authorized Uniform Ed., (Stated), Harper Code E-U. Hardcover. Mark Twain; Literature; The Gilded Age, A Tale of To-Day. First foregpage states "This is the AUTHOR'S NATIONAL ED. - The Writings of Mark Twain, Vol. XI". Second forepage has the following flat handwritten note "THIS IS THE AUTHORIZED UNIFORM ED. OF MY BOOKS. MARK TWAIN". Another forepage has the following "In Two Volumes - Vol. II, Illustrated. (337 Pgs.) Green boards with gilt lettering on spine that has spine and slight edge wear. Leaves are yellowing and light soiling, however have no markings and are quite good considering its age. Book as slighter better than Good.

Synopsis

The Gilded Age: A Tale of Today was written by Mark Twain and Charles Warner in 1873. This novel by is the only one that Twain wrote a collaborator. This novel focuses on the corruption and big business ventures of post-Civil War America. A biting satire, this novel gave the era it's name in history: The Gilded Age.
