NY, NY: The MacAulay Co., 1923. 320 pp., red cloth w/ black lettering & illustration; Book shows cloth wearing through at ends of spine & slightly at corners of boards; edges of spine also show some wear; front board is slightly curved w/ circular central portion red & remainder fading irregularly towards orange; rear board is flat & displays a similar fading pattern, but less so, but does have a dampstain to top fore corner & to bottom corner towards spine (this dampstain is also evident to the correlating corner of the page block, with evidence to bottom margins of pages); spine shows some fading & a possible dampstain toward bottom fore edge; edges of page block are browning (as are pages towards edges) w/ some dampstaining to edges; endpapers show some light foxing or browned areas w/ dampstains evident at edges (& to edges of half-title, as well); half-title page has a tear at the bottom gutter; long-flattened creases to a dozen or so leaves w/ only 1 which was still folded / This is the 8th printing of the Macaulay edition, which did not include a frontispiece. "Tarzan" is misspelled "Tarzon" in the two titles advertised on the title page. Battered letters appear on the copyright page (the "B" in "By") & on page 9 (in the words "lighter color, whose method). There is also additional type deterioration on page 195 (in the words "hills" and "or later"). /. Hard Cover. Good -/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
