About This Item

Vancouver, BC: Heavenly Monkey, 2004. Sievewright, Kara. Square small octavo. (18)ff. One of thirty copies, signed by the author/artist, Kara Sievewright, at the colophon. A collection of short stories originally published as zines. Each story—"A Small Shimmer of Things," "The Girl with the Mask of a Crow," and "The City of the Birds"—is illustrated with images from the originals, though those for the titular tale were completely redrawn. Sievewright's tales, and her illustrations to match, embrace the eerie and the surreal to tell stories of lost love, lost girls, and lost birds. Bound in black silk over boards, with pictorial dust wrapper. Fine. Together with "A Small Shimmer of Things" independently printed as a booklet, also by Heavenly Monkey in 2004. One of fifty copies, signed by the artist. Bound with string in pale pink wrappers. Fine.
