"Girls in Uniform", adapted from the German Play 'Gestern Und Heute' upon which the film, "MÄDCHEN IN UNIFORM" is based; (often considered the first-ever lesbian film).
First performed in English as "Children in Uniform" (English adaptation by Barbara Burnham) at the Duchess Theatre, in London with Cathleen Nesbitt and Jessica Tandy in the cast.
This play was produced by Leontine Sagan under the title of 'Children In Uniform' at The Duchess Theatre, London, on October 7th, 1932, (see cast scan).In December 1932, the American Production opened and closed in TWO NIGHTS!
