Comstock Editions, Inc.. Very Good. 1976. Second Printing. Paperback. Both covers, next to the spine, are creased from reading. The spine is not creased from reading. The pages are clean, no tears or soiling. The pages and binding are tight. All three page edges are yellow stained. The upper right corner of the front cover is creased as is the upper left corner of the back cover. The first 20 pages have a light crease that matches the crease on the front cover. The edges of the covers and spine are lightly scuffed from shelf wear. ; B&W Photographs; 16mo 6" - 7" tall; 274 pages; The story of Reeve and the flyers who pioneered Alaska's skies in single-engine planes. In 1932 when Bob Reeves climbed off a freighter at Valdez Alaska, he was broke, sick, and without a plane to fly. From those grim beginnings, he built up a successful commercial airline operating in "the worst weather in the world" -- along the fog-shrouded chain of the Aleutian Islands -- and became known throughout the territory by many names: "Half-Bird, " the greatest rough terrain pilot of our continent and "Mr. Alaska.
