This book is about the techniques of producing and decorating glass in the Islamic world from the 7th to the 19th century. The publication was issued within the context of the exhibition of the same name that was held at the Benaki Museum and organised by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the Corning Museum of Glass. It includes extensive scholarly descriptions, as well as an analysis of the chemical composition of Islamic glass. Detailed analyses are likewise made of undecorated blown glass, glass blown into a mould, thermally processed glass, mosaic glass, carved and incised glass, painted glass, as well as themes such as glass-making in the age of the emperors and imitations of Islamic glass pieces. // "La cristaleria de los Sultanes": El libro trata de las tecnicas de produccion y decoracion del cristal en el mundo islamico del s. VII al XIX. La publicacion se realizo en el marco de la exposicion del mismo titulo presentada en el Museo Benaki y organizada por el Museo de Arte Metropolitano de Nueva York y el Corning Museum of Glass. Incluye amplias descripciones cientificas, asi como analisis de la composicion quimica del cristal islamico. Se analizan detalladamente el cristal insuflado sin decoracion, el insuflado en matriz, el de tratamiento termico, el cristal con mosaico, el tallado y el inciso, el pintado, y temas como la cristaleria en la epoca de los Imperios y las imitaciones de obras de cristaleria islamica.
