Hardcover, uncommon full leather binding, which was an expensive upgrade from the more common cloth or half leather editions. Front and spine are ornately decorated in bright gilt and silver, boards are beveled and blind stamped. Decorated end pages and front and rear and all exterior page edges are gilt. Unfortunately, the front board is held on only by several sections of the binder string and appears there may have been attempt to repair the leather with glue at one point. Internal hinges at boards have a strip of white cloth reinforcement which may have also been added at a later date. Despite the rough exterior the internal binding is good and text pages are tight.
