New York: The Abingdon Press, 1904. Hardcover. Small 4to. Pale green cloth with gilt lettering and ivory, dark green and burgundy pictorial stamping, pictorial dust jacket. 230pp, (2pp). Top edge gilt. Frontispiece, numerous illustrations. Near fine/good plus. Jacket clean and bright but edgeworn, with large chip at top of front panel and smaller chip at rear of rear panel. Truly tight and bright reprint edition of these quite popular nature appreciation essays by this Methodist Episcopal bishop (1860-1925, first published in 1902 and reprinted many times. Despite wear and chips, the usually-absent jacket is bright and fairly attractive and the volume itself uncannily pristine,
