About This Item

Massada LTD, Ramat-Gan, 1978. Hard Cover. Book Condition: Good. No Dust Jacket HechtKopf, H (illustrator). 4to (7½" x 10½"). 168 pp. Translated from the Hebrew by Murray Roston and compiled by the author in the first English edition. Jewish folklore provides a rich and colorful source of stories. Its main difference from the folklore of other lands is that here each story aims at teaching a moral lesson and illuminates a teaching of the Torah. In this book Asher Barash has collected forty such tales from rabbinic sources, retold in his own delightful fashion. Ornate sepia-wash drawings accompany each story. Top of spine has small tear. Text clean and intact with no markings. Binding and pages strong. There is dedication on the first front page. Overall good condition.
