Ames, Iowa: Iowa State University Press, 1979. First Edition. HB. Tan cloth, black lettering on spine, large 8vo, 150 pp. Inscribed on half-title page as follows: "George Kjome, to Dad from MIke." Mike Kjome was the subject of 12 articles by Gammack included in this book. Kjome was a civilian from Decorah, Iowa teaching in Vietnam who was captured by the Viet Cong in 1968, and held as a prisoner of war for 6 years. The columns are a detailed account of this experience. No other marks in book, binding tight. Dust jacket shows minor shelf wear, chipping top of spine. Dust jacket has been taped to book at endpapers. Book condition VG- in Good+ DJ. Includes columns from World War II, Korea and Vietnam.
