Paris: Librairie De Firmin Didot Freres, Fils et Cie Editeurs, 1857. Extra shipping applies to this thick oversized volume. Cover is quarter leather (at corners, inside edge and spine) and a lovely jaquard buckram embossed with flowers and vines. Leather areas are quite worn and leather spine is missing. Paper backing over spine is firmly intact. The bookseller who donated this item to us has taped a label to the spine - we'll leave it for the buyer to remove. As with many books this age - 1857 - there is tanning and spotting. Salem, Mass. booksellers sticker on inside cover. Pencilled notations on fep and title page. Black and white decorations of letters (i.e. "Z" throughout dictionary. Regrettably, we have only volume one of this two volume set. 1104 pages in this volume. 100% of your purchase benefits charity. . Buckram. Good/No Jacket. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
