A strip of light partial browned in the free endpapers and some spotting throughout. A tiny dealer plate to the front pastedown. A nice bright copy in the uncommon dust wrapper, slightly dust marked and tanned, and chipped at the spine panel ends with a little loss. Graves' fifth book, forty-six poems, dedicated to his wife Nancy Nicholson. 1,000 copies were printed. Higginson A5.

Copy has prior owner's name and date (Christmas 1880) neatly inscribed on second front flyleaf. Boards are Dark Green, with embossed design around edge (front, back and spine), plus gilt lettering on spine. Boards have light wear at top and bottom of spine. Otherwise, boards and pages are clean, unmarked (except for owner's name as indicated), bright, tightly bound and sharp cornered. Scarce, Out Of Print, Book. Includes 184 pages plus 3 pages of lists of additional Tennyson Works. .

Prague: Borovy, 1927 This copy is number 459 of a limited edition of 600 copies. It has been nicely rebound in pebbled red cloth with the front cover bound in (see photos). Cover design on wrappers edition by Mrkvicka, 80pp., with five colored drawings by Sima. One of the most important publications of the Czech avant -garde in the 1920s.

Black (dark green?) cloth with gilt-stamped spine title "Hill's Poems" and gilt-stamped center-medallion harp on both boards; blind-stamped decoration on both boards. Pale yellow endpapers. Includes Errata slip tipped in following Contents. Former owner's name on front fixed endpaper: A.E. Phillips. Dedicated to Ebenezer Bailey, Esq. of Boston. The author, George Hill (1796-1871) graduated from Yale in 1816 and taught mathematics for the Navy beginning in 1827. His experience in the Mediterranean with the Navy inspired his poem The Ruins of Athens, which was published anonymously in 1831. This is the first appearance of the other poems in this volume. Scarce. In Good- Condition: cover is soiled with several small ink spots; ends of spine and corners rubbed; ends of spine fraying; endpapers are discolored; foxing throughout; a few leaves are partially detached but volume is complete.

INSCRIBED to the painter Jack Freeman by the author on the first interior page. One of an unknown but presumably microscopic number of copies of the self-published first edition of this pocket-sized poetic collection by a key figure in San Francisco's North Beach from the Beat era until his death a few years after this was issued. Just about as new (minor marks on cover appear to be printing artifact).

Rare mid-seventies issue of the classic San Francisco underground Beat magazine, includes a great range of luminaries (including one poem by Dale Pendell). A curious 1976 leaflet entitled The Grant Getter's Gazette by Michael Weiner is laid in. Unmarked copy with a bit of reading wear (front cover has some printing offset, as observed with other copies).

Beautiful as-new copy of the fourth issue of this groundbreaking literary and Kabbalistic magazine edited by David Meltzer. Includes Image of the Wall by Wallace Berman, a lengthy 1964 letter from Lenny Bruce to a judge, a number of Kabbalistic pieces from traditional authorities, and other material from writers associated with the Semina scene. Unmarked copy, as new.
