Corners are bumped and rubbed to boards. Bubbling and marks to front and back cover, spine ends are bent and fraying. Foxing and marks to page edges. Cocked spine. Previous owner's name written on front free endpaper, bookstore sticker adhered to front inside cover. Broken hinges, spine is loose and broken throughout interior. Ex library copy with associated labels, inserts, stamps and annotations. Pages remain bright and clean with minimal tanning and foxing. Some creased pages at front. Boards have moderate shelf wear with mild bumping and fraying to corners and crushing and fraying to spine ends. Some marks and staining to surfaces.

Written in the years before the war, with the author's note obviously written during the war, it was the author's contention that the 600,000 returned troops at the end of the war could be employed in northern Queensland to redirect the water that flows out to sea from along the Cape, and the regions down to Townsville, into the centre of Australia, setting up a cycle of evaporation and rain, allowing reafforestation, and industrialisation, thereby permitting Australia to populate with millions more people the central areas of the continent.
