Blue boards with gold trim (two thin lines) decorative gold inlay along edges. Five raised gilt bands evenly spaced across spine. Decorative gold inlay and book title (on faux gold/brown square) between bands. The boards are bumped, rubbed and scratched. Rubbed, with spotting along spine hinges and board edges. The top corner of the front board is rubbed off, revealing the underlaying board. There is what appears to be moisture/water stain across the bottom of the front board. Marbled pastedowns and free endpapers. Pages foxing/browning. There is a very neat inscription dated July 28, 1882 (the book presented as an award) from a school headmaster to a pupil on the free page opposite the half title page.
