About This Item

Cedar Run, New Jersey, U.S.A.: Down the Shore Publ. & The Sandpiper Inc, 1993. 1993 Edition, second printing (printing line begins with "2"). NEAR FINE in VERY GOOD price intact dust jacket. A clean, totally unmarked and firmly bound copy. Pages fresh and fine. Gray hardcover, titles stamped in black on front and spine, is lightly edge rubbed but otherwise fine. Binding and hinges tight, intact and straight. Unclipped pictorial jacket is clean with moderate shelf rubbing, small scuffs and short tear and small nicks along edges. The authors reach as far back as the late 18th-century in their history of storms that seriously impacted New Jersey's shoreline through to the late 20th-century. The book is generously illustrated with black & white archival photos but is more than a photo documentation of disaster. Meteorological background and detailed descriptions of events including many firsthand reports are presented. There are also charts, several maps of the New Jersey shoreline, a Bibliography and a detailed Index. The Foreword is by Senator Bill Bradley. 11-1/4 x 11-1/4"; 204 pages . Hard Cover.
