Black cloth, gilt title to spine, and colour pictorial dustjacket reproducing 3 paintings by Chris Rose. 112pp, folio. Each species of grebe has a full page colour painting by Rose, done with his characteristic attention to detail and superb light, water and habitat effects. There is also a double page painting of winter plumages, as well as some line drawings. Each species has a distribution map. Includes detailed conservation status notes. Introduction on evolution, biology and conservation. A Fine copy of a lovely book.
