London: William S. Orr. Elegant three-quarters green leather with polished marbled boards attractively edged by three lines of gilt. The impressive spine has 5 raised bands resulting in 6 compartments. All compartments are lined with gilt bars. The compartments other than that containing the title and author contain a profusion of gilt decoration, mostly floral. All edges gilt. An extremely attractive binding. First Book Edition (first edition in 1839). Normal shelfwear along the edges, particularly along the bottom, previous owner's name in ink and small name stamp, Very Good. "With upwards of three hundred and fifty engravings on wood and twenty-eight on steel, illustrative of the scenery, architecture, and costume of that country. By Copley Fielding, F. Creswick, D. Cox, Jun., Harvey, Paul Huet, Meissonier, Sargent, Daubigny, Jacques, and other artists." A desirable copy. . Very Good. Hardcover. First Book Edition. 1840.
