New York: Charles Scribners Sons, 1935. Nice copy of first printing with Scrbner "A" on copyright page and 1935 on title page.. Light green cloth clean and still pretty fresh. One lightly bumped tip. Neat signature on front pastedown (under jacket flap). Price intact jacket ($2.75) has light to moderate creasing with tiny nick at top of rear panel. Rear panel of jacket has photo of author above 2 1/2" of green text. In mylar. . First Editiion. Hardcover. Very Good Plus/Very Good Plus. Illus. by Edward Shenton. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
Synopsis
Green Hills of Africa is a 1935 work of nonfiction written by Ernest Hemingway. Hemingway's second work of nonfiction, Green Hills of Africa is basically a journal of a month on safari he and his wife, Pauline Marie Pfeiffer, took in East Africa during December 1933. Green Hills of Africa is divided into four parts: Pursuit and Conversation, Pursuit Remembered, Pursuit and Failure, and Pursuit as Happiness, each of which plays a different role in the story.
