A shipping disaster leaves the heir to the sixth Earl of Greystoke and his pregnant stranded in the jungles of Africa. The wife gives birth to a young boy and dies immediately after and her husband is soon killed by an ape and the child is taken to be raised as one of the ape's own, to replace her dead infant. This man is discovered years later by a Belgian explorer who decides to return this man to his human family and destiny as a royal. Based on Burroughs' 1912 novel, and another remake following 1981 "Tarzan, the Ape Man." Nominated for three Academy Awards, including Best Actor and Best Writing. Set in Africa, shot on location in Cameroon, as well as the United Kingdom. White titled wrappers. 150 leaves, with last page of text numbered 150. Pages Very Good plus, wrapper Very Good plus bound with three gold brads. Weldon 1996.
