39 pages with 27 plates, figures and map. Royal octavo (9 3/4" x 6 1/2") bound in full leather with gilt lettering to spine. Originally bound in wrappers which are lacking. First edition. Gregorio Hernández de Alba is one of the founding 'fathers' of archaeology and anthropology in Colombia. His intellectual contributions exceeded the academic level: Hernández de Alba was an active defender of the indigenous people. Condition: Rebound in leather, slight foxing, stamp to title else very good..
