About This Item

The First UK printing published by Peter Davies, London in 1940. The BOOK is in Very Good++ condition with the original brown boards and cream titling. Light pushing at the spine ends. A small bump to the upper front corner. Light toning and spotting to the text-block with a hint of spotting to the prelims. Free from inscriptions. The fragile WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good- condition. Correctly priced at '7s 6d Net'. Some chipping to the spine ends and the front upper edge - see images. Some nicks and smaller losses to the edges in places. Some tape repairs to the verso. The wrapper remains attractive in the removable Brodart archival cover. An early title from the author of 'Black Narcissus' and very elusive to find with the wrapper in any condition. Ashton Rare Books welcomes direct contact.
