[Salesman's Catalog] H. G. Fischer & Co., Inc. Physical Therapy Equipment Chicago [Binder title]

Chicago: H. G. Fischer & Co., Inc, 1st quarter 20th century. Five ring Binder. Very Good. An exceptional salesman's book with photographs of products made by the company. There are twenty seven 7 1/2 x 10 inch photographs laid down on linen. The whole in a five ring binder with the company's information impressed on the front cover (faded). Image tonality varies, some faded, some sharper. Five ring Binder. The first two images are collages of other photographs using Diathermy for everything from hemorrhoids to sinus infections to the treatment of Pneumonia. The next twenty three images are of company products, each with model number, name, order code, and often the price. The Fischer Type "R" Milliampere Radiographic Unit (code REXRA) is impressive, and should be at $665. The GP2 Portable Diathermy and Electrocoagulation apparatus is only $285. Some models are floor stands, some table top, some accessories, and a few appear to be from other companies (no doubt carried by Fischer - the Hanovia sun lamps are one example). The final two images are companies that use Fischer machines - The Battle Creek Sanitarium and The Cook County Hospital.

While ephemera about these machines are findable, this is the first photographic catalog we've seen by this company. No doubt this was not a static catalog, but was updated as products were added or removed from active production.
