Signed F.S. Cozzens in lower left. The drawing is on white vellum card and is unframed and measures 5 1/2" x 9 1/4". It is fine, with a 3/16" closed tear on the left edge and a few traces of foxing. There is a pencil study of mountains and human figures on the verso. Housed in a three part 6 1/2" x 10 1/2" custom case, the outer case bound as a book in half leather with gilt ornamented…

The battle of Acoma, strange and picturesque resulted. This is a narrative, romantic in nature of the battle of Acoma.
