This is the story of the Civil War in the West focusing on the untold story of St. Joseph, MO a bustling outfitting post and fur-trading town occupied mostly by sympathizers to the Confederate Cause. In 1861, the town became an occupied fortress caught between Union soldiers and Southern guerrillas. Torn between ideological ties to the South and its promising trade ties with the North the town was in chaos and it fortunes fell with the war. A clean very presentable copy.
