About This Item

Harvard University Press:, 1953. 322 pages, illustrated with 129 pages of b&w photographs and numerous line drawngs. "The Handbook of the Classical Collection (for the Metropolitan Museum of Art) first appeared in 1917 and was subsequently issued in several partically revised edition, the sixth and last appearing in 1930. The many important accessions since that date, the new installations, and the inevitable progress of our knowledge of Greek art have now made a thorough revision of both text and illustrations desirable. The present edition is, therefore, practically a new book. The most important changes in installation are the segregation of the Etruscan objects in a separate gallery, and the removal of the Minoan reproductions to another room. A new feature in this book is the notes giving accession numbers of the objects mentioned." FINE HARDCOVER, VERY GOOD DUST JACKET.. Hard Cover. Fine/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
