London: Chatto & Windus, 1878 Scarce title in original red cloth with professionally replaced spine. Light fading to cloth along the outer edge (photo) 2 p.l., [iii] - vi,121,vi p. Bookplate to front endpaper. Pages have a little age toning around the edges, otherwise the text is clean and bright. Book published posthumously. Roffe, 1803-1871, an engraver and enthusiastic scholar of Shakespeare and music, completed this work about 1867. In the introduction notes by A.J.Waterlow, he explains that the work has not been edited, and after consulting with other old friends of the author, thought the "volume would be a welcomed and useful addition to many Shakespearian Libraries".
