The author shows the wide range of experiences as well as the interconnectedness between the world of the American farmworker and the lives of everyday Americans. This book is based on over two hundred and fifty interviews. The Author taught in the Law and Society Program at the University of California, Irvine and was a former outreach worker and para-legal for a federally funded legal services program that represented farmworkers.
