First edition thus; 5 1/2 x 6 1/2; pp. [7], 8-64; original pictorial cloth-backed boards; frontispiece and numerous full-page hand-colored engraved plates; few small nicks to head and tail of spine and some wear to edges and corners, else covers vibrant and well-preserved; small stamp with previous owner's name to first blank page; some foxing and age-toning to first and last pages, else mostly clean (occasional small spots to margins, not affecting text and illustrations, where little fingers have handled and turned the pages); overall in very good or better condition.A charming and gorgeously-illustrated compilation of 19th century children's didactic poetry.OCLC lists one copy of the present edition at Western Kentucky University.
