New York: Reynal & Hitchcock 1st edition [only printing], 1940. Hardcover. Good. Illustrations by Mary Shepard printed in red.. LIMITED TO 1000 copies privately printed for the friends of the Author and her publishers as a New Year's Greeting. Octavo black cloth-spined red boards with silver stars and red printed title label to cover and silver titled to spine (edges rubbed/corners worn/1.7cm of sunning to front board) 29pp. Printed in black with red initial letter to each chapter and title on titlepage. All illustrations except for one on the title are printed in red. No inscriptions, pencil marks, creases or loose pages. Crisp and bright inside with endpapers matching the boards with silver stars. Page fore-edge and bottom edge untrimmed as issued. *A Mary Poppins story where the Banks children have adventures with fairy tale characters. No copies for sale since the Bauman Rare Books copy was sold. This book is illustrated by Mary Shepard, the daughter of the Winnie-the-Pooh illustrator, E. H. Shepard. She also illustrated all the other Mary Poppins titles.
