Light foxing on some pages: about FAIR PLUS to GOOD MINUS condition. Contents really excellent. This volume [#3] contains 6 months of Harper's Monthly Magazine. It contains some very interesting articles, including one on unsinkable lifeboats, others on Mormons, fashions, giraffes, electro-magnetism applied to railroads, solar eclipse, Lapland, etc. etc. It is also famous for containing the first reference in print to the Melville's Moby Dick. 864pp. 9 3/4" X 6 3/4" in leather.
