London: Hutchinson & Co., 1927. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. 1st Edition.. Undated first edition [1927. Original light grey-green cloth, lettered in black. Spine lightly sunned, two clippings (one a synopsis) tipped on to front endpapers, very good. A grim tale of the Cornish tin-mines, near Camborne. Lowry wrote a number of novels in the 1890s, and edited The Ludgate Magazine at the end of the decade. He died in 1906 at the age of 37, with this novel incomplete. His cousin completed the book for publication some twenty years later..
