Royal octavo (9 1/2" x 6 1/4") bound in original publisher's quarter black cloth with gilt lettering to spine over grey boards with initials "PG" to cover in original pictorial jacket. First edition. Henry Havelock Ellis (1859-1939) was a British physician, writer, and social reformer who studied human sexuality. He was co-author of the first medical textbook in English on homosexuality in 1897, and also published works on sexual practices and inclinations, including transgender psychology. Condition: Very good to fine in a near fine jacket.
