Gift inscription from the author to the title page: "For Vera With love & best wishes for Xmas & the New Year Jean Plaidy Dec. 1956". 253 pages + adverts. Original dust jacket good, with little rubbing and a little chipping to edges, not price-clipped, now presented in a loose-fitting clear archival sleeve. Hard-back binding good, slightly water marked. Contents very good and tight, end papers lightly marked with minimal transfer of colour to lower edges from binding; a little foxing; spotting to page edges, paper lightly toned. A good to very good first edition copy, signed by the author..
