Octavo, 381pp. Red cloth, title in gilt over blue stamped label. First issue statement on copyright page. Previous ownership signature on front free endpaper. Solid text block, light soiling along top edge, otherwise fine. In the publisher's dust jacket, retail price on front flap, chip to top edge of rear panel, light rubbing to edges, vibrant blue color, an attractive example. Signed on the half-title by the author: "Wallis, Duchess of Windsor." Wallis Simpson, Duchess of Windsor (1896-1986), was the wife of King Edward VIII. Their decision to marry lead to the abdication crisis of 1936, resulting in Edward VIII abdicating the throne of Great Britain.
