(Felix Octavius Carr) Darley 1822-88, head & tale vignettes . c.1832 (c.1861 from Cooper's Novels, published in 32 volumes). Brown blind-stamped cloth, gilt stamped and decorated spine and topboard, yellow eps, beveled boards. 8vo (22.5cm). pp. 464. Very Good/No jacket, as issued. Slightly sunned spine, edgewear, small head chips, torn tissue. Foxed newspaper clipping of George F. Root's lyrics to "Just Before the Battle, Mother", undated in a column entitled Songs of the Civil War laid in on pp. 312-13. [Note: uniform with James G. Gregory binding]..
