Pablo Neruda (1904 - 1973) was a Chilean poet, born Neftalí Reyes Basoalto (in full, Ricardo Eliecer Neftalí Reyes Basoalto. It was inspired by his journey to Macchu Picchu, the Peruvian Inca city high in the Andes.
