A very solid and entirely clean copy, about near fine in burnt orange buckram with blind stamped decoration to front boards, yellow lettering to spine. With frontis. map and many photographic illustrations within. Chronicles life in small town America during the Great Depression years, growing out of Anderson's time as an editor of two country weekly newspapers in Smyth County, Virginia. Scarce. .
