Signed presentation from Faherty on the half-title page: "For Norma Silber- with best wishes of the author, Wm. B Faherty, S.J." Silber was manager of the Missouri Botanical Gardens, which was founded by Henry Shaw in 1859. With five small pages of pencil notes by Silber making additions or corrections to the text, along with a clipped newspaper clipping about Shaw. A nice association copy. Fine in like d/j. $185.00.
