About This Item
San Francisco: SF Council of Churches, 1979. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good-/No Jacket. From the title page, "A history 0f the Protestant, Anglican & Orthodox church movement in San Francisco 0n the occasion of the anniversary year (1978-1979) of the SF Council of Churches." Inscribed to Senator Frank Church by Rev. Leach verso 1st end sheet. Some traces of tip abrasion, straight, handsome gilt. Strangely, on examining the contents, I became aware that this commemoration was done on the heels of the Moscone, Milk, Ryan murders and the Jonestown suicides. The last few pages of the book tell of these events as they were becoming known.
